Let’s start with a real example. Royal Eagle Road vacuum insulated bottles are made of 304 food-grade stainless steel, also known as 18/8 stainless steel. The numbers 18/8 means that the bottle is composed of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. The double-wall and the screw cap ensure greater insulation and therefore keep the temperature of the liquidsteady. Both hot and cold.
The watertight screwcap is designed to prevent dripping and leaking. It also keeps the temperature inside isolated from the outside and at the same time prevents external agents from entering inside the bottle.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN STAINLESS STEEL BOTTLES AND ALUMINUM ONES
What is the difference between a stainless steel bottle and an aluminum bottle? There are different materials and we have preferred thermal bottles made of stainless steel instead of aluminum for several reasons.
The steel is dustproof
The aluminum water bottle, very popular in recent years, is lighter and cheaper but this metal is not rustproof by its nature. Usually, the bottle needs a ceramic coating to isolate the aluminum from direct contact with the liquids. Consequently, the surface does not always remain intact: impacts and frequent use can cause ripples in which mold and bacteria grow. Stainless steel, on the contrary, does not need any internal treatment to make it safe since the chromium contained within the metal alloy does not react in contact with oxygen and therefore is resistant to corrosion and also to impacts.
Steel does not retain odors and flavors
The aluminum bottle is not suitable for containing milk, acidic drinks such as fruit juices and energy drinks or hot liquids as it can oxidize. In addition, prolonged use of the aluminum bottle can alter the taste of the water: this is due to the formation of mold and bacteria in the ripples inside the walls. Unlike aluminum, stainless steel does not retain or release odors or flavors of the liquids previously contained. The stainless steel bottle, properly cleaned, can contain water after coffee without altering the flavor and quality of the drink. It also does not corrode in the case of acid liquids such as lemonade, energy drinks and fruit juices.
Steady temperature for hours
The stainless steel bottle is suitable for both cold and hot drinks, keeping the temperature steady. Thanks to the double-walled vacuum insulation, our bottles keep hot for up to 12 hours and cold for up to 24 hours. Given the double insulating wall, the thermal bottle cannot be left in the refrigerator, freezer or microwave.
HOW TO CLEAN A STAINLESS STEEL REUSABLE WATER
BOTTLE
The bottle requires greater care because it is in contact with the mouth and therefore needs to be washed every day. A simple water rinse is not enough to remove microorganisms, germs and bacteria. Every time you change the beverage inside (water, tea, coffee, herbal tea, etc.), it is necessary to remove all traces of the previous liquid with simple washing.
The neck of our bottles is wide enough to insert ice, fruit and facilitate washing by inserting a thin bottle brush.
Our reusable thermal bottle cannot be washed in the dishwasher but we suggest two ways to disinfect it:
1. Dishwashing detergent
Fill the bottle halfway up with warm water and dishwashing soap. Shake the bottle for a couple of seconds and empty it. Successively fill and empty the bottle several times with warm water and turn it upside down to dry before storing.
The cap and the thread around the opening of the bottle need particular attention since bacteria are likely to form in that area. Use a damp sponge with soapy water to clean the cap and a bottle brush to reach the curved parts of the bottle.
2. Vinegar
Fill half the bottle with white vinegar and water and leave the solution to sit overnight. Shake the bottle and rinse it thoroughly with water, then turn it upside down to air dry. Your stainless steel bottle is clean.
We recommend a first wash before using the bottle.
Our bottles are available in two capacities, 350 ml and 500 ml, and in different colors. Which one do you like the most?
